Foundations and Town

The Foundations Program consists of Kick Start and Kindergarten Soccer.  The program introduces younger players to the sport, developing soccer-related skills and foot/ball control in a non-competitive fun environment. Players then progress to the Town program for 1st, 2nd and potentially 3rd graders. 

 

Kick Start - 45 minutes Saturday mornings

MUST BE 4 YEARS OLD BY 8/31 TO PARTICIPATE IN THE KICK START PROGRAM FOR BOTH FALL AND SPRING SEASONS

Our “Kick Start” introductory soccer program is a 9-week program offered in the fall and spring for children who will be at least 4 on or before the August 31st before the fall season.  The 45 minute clinics will be held on Saturday mornings.  Each session will focus on the non-competitive, fun development of soccer-related skills, including balance, coordination, and foot skill / ball control.  No soccer experience is necessary.  All players will be required to bring a size 3 ball and water bottle each week.  Each player will receive a t-shirt on the first day. 

 

Kindergarten Soccer - 30 minute practice, 30 minute 3v3 game Saturday mornings

MUST BE 5 YEARS OLD BY 8/31 TO PARTICIPATE IN THE KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM FOR BOTH FALL AND SPRING

The Kindergarten Program is for children who are enrolled in kindergarten or who have reached the age of 5 by August 31st.  Teams meet for one hour on Saturday mornings. The first half of the session is dedicated to practice and develop skills, and the second half is team-based scrimmages with 3v3 and no goalies.  The objective is to keep the kids active and have them use their feet to move the ball as much as possible. The goals are small and optimized for success.  

 

Town 1st and 2nd/3rd Graders

The HYS Town Program is for 1st and 2nd/3rd graders interested in continuing their soccer development. The players have a 60 minute team practice during the week and game on Saturday mornings.1st Graders play 4v4 games. 2nd/3rd games are 7v7 with a goalkeeper.

The Town program follows a curriculum created by the New England Revolution Academy.  The plan provides a weekly structure of fun activities and games that are used by volunteer coaches to provide age appropriate development for the players.
