TRAVEL SOCCER
Hopkinton Youth Soccer's travel soccer program provides player development opportunities that build on the success of the In-Town Program. This program is for players that reside in Hopkinton in 3rd-8th Grade. Players are placed based on grade level enrollment, not age or birth year.
All players 3rd grade and up are eligible to play in our Travel Soccer Program. There are no “cuts” and all players that register on time will be placed on a team. Late registrations are not guaranteed placement on a travel team.
Travel teams play in the BAYS (Boston Area Youth Soccer) League.
- FALL 2026 REGISTRATION — open May 10th — June 10th
- SPRING 2027 REGISTRATION — open November 10th — December 10th
COACHING: This group is coached by a parent volunteer. HYS Travel Soccer is made possible by the volunteer coaches. Their efforts leading team practices and coaching games are critical to the program’s success. Coaches are provided with a weekly practice session plan developed by the HYS Director of Coaching.

- Parents can sign up to volunteer on their child's AdminSports registration account.
- Each team must have a minimum of two coaches for the program to work effectively.

- A criminal background check (CORI) will be conducted on all youth coaches per state law.

TEAM PLACEMENT PROCEDURE:
Registered players are placed on teams based upon volunteer coach player evaluations in conjunction with feedback from independent travel evaluations. Evaluations are NOT try-outs; however, they will provide objective feedback on players' skills.
All travel soccer players MUST attend independent player evaluations. We encourage all players to attend both sessions. All players are required to attend a minimum of one session. Any player that would like to be considered for placement on a top-level travel team should attend both sessions and must attend a minimum of one evaluation session.
The dates are listed below. There are two options for each grade — one weekday session and one weekend session. Make-up sessions due to inclement weather will be scheduled as needed.
